By Tashi Shitsetsang. The preliminary election of Sikyong (Tibetan Political leader) and members of the 16th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile recently took place across the globe. I felt very excited to make use of my rights as a Tibetan Green Book holder for the first time. I was ready to finally embrace our democracy, but what awaited me was truly shocking and slightly disappointing. Heavy imputations, vague rules and regulations and arbitrary changes brought a lot of confusion and debate among the Tibetan community in exile.

A few hours in the forefront of the most important clima conference in this century (COP21) on the 28th of November 2015 in Paris, multiple protest marches will be held worldwide. In Zurich as well. TYAE will be present in Zurich to underline Tibets importance regarding climate change.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Dhondup Gyal’s death. To commemorate this important figure of recent Tibetan history the Tibetan Youth Association in Europe (TYAE) will host a conference on Dhondup Gyal’s work and modern Tibetan literature.
